Bummis Trainer review.

Recently we chose a few of our fellow bloggers to help us out on some reviews. Read what Jenny thought of the Bummis Training Pants:

image

I was lucky to be able to try a Bummis trainer on Audrianna. It is really difficult to find the right training pants for her because she has cerebral palsy and is working very hard on potty training but isn’t 100% there yet. So sometimes she forgets and has accidents and sometimes there major accidents. We’re always on the lookout for a trainer that might be more absorbent.

image

When we got the Bummis Trainer in the mail I was a bit shocked at the size, it looked so big. Audrianna was close to 40lbs so I wanted to make sure we had one that would fit her. I went ahead and prepped the trainer anyways. I figured why not give it a shot it, it never hurts to try right?????

Although the gals of Top to Bottom Baby had warned me they ran a little big, I have to admit the trainer didn’t work and I was a little upset. The trainer was a little loose around the legs and when Audrianna would have a little accident it would leak. We decided to put them away for a while, and try again later.

Now that she has gained some weight back we decided to give the trainer another shot. The trainer worked great, and didn’t leave any marks on Audrianna’s legs.

Pros:

They were easy to put on and take off all by herself! Anything that is easy for Audrianna to do is a plus in my book. She loves to be independent.

Cozy flannel lining is so soft against skin, which encourages your little one to potty train faster!

Cons:

The sizing was not what I expected. I got a large which should fit 40lbs & up, but I felt it fit more like 45lbs and up.

I wasn’t a fan of the prints to choose from. I kind of wish they had more of a selection of prints. Other then just white, jungle, or the frogs. Maybe making them more appealing to kids to use would be helpful.

Amanda from Top to Bottom Baby was great to work with and the trainer was shipped fast. All my questions were answered very well. I was not compensated anyway for my review and the opinions expressed in this review are mine and mine alone.

Let’s give something away!!!!

I just use fleece soakers on my three year old. He is still working on potty training. I do not recommend those sposie training pants, they are just like a diaper and don't work! I used those with my daughter and only ended up buying one bag.
Lots of nakkie time at home is my best trick, and the only thing that actually works, the fleece will help contain accidents and you can trifold a prefold for overnights if your LO is prone to accidents.

My kiddo is still a ways away from potty learning, but my mom told me to just have potties EVERYWHERE.

We're just starting potty learning but we're using fleece soakers that I've made. I would LOVE to try the actual training pants though!

The only trainer we've used so far is the gerber ones--I'm really hoping to find a trainer that actually holds accidents in.

When we potty trained our daughter we use pullups, but alot of people i know use the thicker training pants with plastic pants, or just plain underwear, so that the child feels their wetness. They say that helps them potty train faster! That didn't work for Kelsee and i'm hoping that method works for Tyler but we won't be potty training till Next year somtime.

We have an 8 month old so we obviously haven't started potty training yet but our neighbor has a 3 year old and she draws a face on the bottom of her son's little potty and tells him to hit the face haha...It's fun for him and he's now also obsessed with flushing :)

With my first kid I used gerber trainers and nylon pants....ick. Second kid I used fleece training pants from 2by2 Boutique when going out. At home I dealt with the accidents in real underwear. Thank goodness for laminate flooring, easy clean up.

My tip is to go straight to underwear and forgo the sposie pull ups.

I run a home day care and have potty trained many kids.
It sometimes can be rough, but if you are consistent it will pay off.
Finally taking the plunge to panties instead of pull ups works faster.....

A trick I have heard is for boys to put something in the toilet for them to aim at. Like a cheerio or something to that effect.

We use thick flannel panties and I have a potty in the living room and one in the car. I think being consistent is the best way to get it done. I find on days that I am my daughter does great... other days she does not.

Hey every person. This seems a pretty lively forum, I expect you do not mind me asking a question. Basically, I choose to be a CNA and am looking for guidance.

Despite the fact that I realize that the occupation I'm at the moment doing is within the medical field, I choose to be in a medical center coping on the front line with serious cases.

I recognize it is just not the best glamorous job in the planet, yet that doesn't faze me one bit since I think the job they do is necessary and undervalued.

What i certainly want would be to be on the list of cut and thrust of a hospital which is protecting lives and making them better - exactly where really should I appear today for cna training?

I've heard that if you can watch for cues that the kiddo needs to go to the bathroom that you can be proactive in the training.

But I have no idea yet!

In my experience, the key to potty training is readiness. I don't mind having my kids in diapers past their third birthday if it means that potty training goes quicker, and is less frustrating with fewer accidents.
I'm still looking for a cloth nighttime solution for my 4 year old. I tried the Bummis trainer and Happy Heinys pocket trainer, but I have nothing good to say about either product. I'm waiting on a custom AI2 pullup with a nighttime insert from Fashionably Green Baby, it should be here in another week or so and I have high hopes for it being "the one", if not, I will just resign myself to sticking with disposable pullups, blech!

We're just starting to get O used to the potty. I've heard that when we get serious about potty training, that it's super-fast to just let him run around with no pants on at all and make him use the potty when he has to go.
